Is a New Nose for You?

Given that nose jobs are the second most popular cosmetic surgery in the United States, it seems like just about anyone can get it done. But just because someone has the cash and desire doesn’t mean they should necessarily rush to the nearest rhinoplasty surgeon. Before deciding to go under the knife for this common-but-still-considerable procedure, review the following guidelines to make sure you’re a good candidate:

Be clear on the “why”. There are different reasons for getting a nose job – some people are mainly concerned about aesthetics, while others are looking to repair the way their nose actually functions. If your natural nose makes you self-conscious, depressed, or socially inhibited, surgical correction can make a difference. The following types of nasal conditions are common reasons for considering a nose job: unusually large or wide, crooked, bumpy, internally obstructed, droopy tip, etc. But whether the goal is to expand, reduce, or reshape, candidates that are clear on why they want or need to change their nose, and have thought it through rationally (not just emotionally), have the highest satisfaction in the end.

Set realistic expectations. Nose surgery candidates that are generally already happy and content with their lives fare best, because they are not looking for the procedure to transform them into a different person. These candidates recognize that surgery may be a means to achieve more self-confidence and improve their quality of life, but they are realistic about the outcome they want to achieve, and aren’t on an endless search for perfection.

Age isn’t just a number. Nose job candidates must be at least 13 years old, and ideally more like 15-16 to ensure the nose has fully developed and facial features have generally settled in.

Get your doctor’s OK. It may seem like no big deal but a nose job is still a surgery. Patients that are healthy overall and don’t smoke or have major medical conditions are the best candidates for the procedure.

What Causes Hair Loss?

Hair loss affects millions of people through-out the world and with that in mind there are a lot of people who can do next to nothing about it. There are creams, shampoos and even prescription medication but even with those nothing seems permanent. With so many people affected by hair loss, what all can cause it?

One of the first things people look into when they find themselves starting to go bald is their parents. In fact, many people with balding mother’s or father’s have probably already been eyeing their mother and father to see what they might look like one day and praying that the baldness gene skips their generation.

However, genetics is not the only way a person can end up going bald. There are plenty of ways a person can start to go bald and some of those ways include their own little cures.

Substance abuse can hurt a person’s hair. At first it will start to thin in places, but as drug use wears on then so does the affect on the hair. For healthier hair, it might be time to check into rehab.

Pregnancy or menopause can also affect the hair. When a woman’s hormones are up in the air and surrounded by that emotional rollercoaster feeling it can affect the hair causing it to get very thin or dry and eventually fall out little by little. However when hormones go back to normal than so does the hair.

Age is also a factor. Sometimes as we get older our bodies just do not adjust well to it and we end up getting wrinkles, wearing dark saggy circles under our eyes and losing our hair.

Poor hygiene/ poor nutrition are also something to look into when you start losing hair. The old saying you are what you eat rings true here. So if you are eating unhealthy it will show in your hair and skin. If you are not taking care of your hair, like not washing it or over washing it then that can cause some issues with baldness.

Hair loss can come to people from all walks of life, but thanks to hair transplant surgery something can be done about it. If you are at your wit’s end and have tried changing your lifestyle and still no change in your baldness, then it may be time to look into hair transplants.

What do you see in the mirror

If one was to stand in front of their bathroom mirror, pull the skin back on the sides on their necks, they would be able to see the results that are achieved from getting face lift surgery. Many people find that having these types of cosmetic modifications to their appearance are not quite as drastic as other forms that are available to the public. Since the mini face lift is the most commonly discussed form of cosmetic procedure for altering the appearance of one’s age, the question as to its overall safety has to be brought into the light.

There are reports of doctors not taking the appropriate amount of attention and devoting it to each patient equally, which can lead to careless mistakes that you are forced to live with. If they are not careful with what they are doing, you can suffer severe nerve damage and blood loss from the incisions being made to deeply, or in the wrong places. If you consult with your doctor about getting a macs facelift, and he or she does not fully express the risks of the operation, consider seeing someone else about doing it. The surgical doctor that will be performing on you should make you very aware of all of the risks involved.

Actually, not doing so makes them somewhat liable in a court of law, and that is a whole other battle that you will want to avoid at all costs. Even if you decide that all that you need is a mini face lift, you still have to consider all of the things that could possibly go wrong with your operation. Most doctors are very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to what is in store for their patients, so feel free to talk to them about your concerns.

Beware the causes of the need for a root canal

A root canal is something that should never be taken lightly, and it is all up to you to make sure that it never comes to the stage when this kind of dental job is necessary. Of course, there are some people who are unlucky and more prone to the kind of tooth decay that may make this treatment necessary, where as others seem to have teeth that could sit in a glass of coke for an age and still stand the test of time (a bit of an exaggeration).

There are many London dentists who are highly experienced with this kind of treatment but we are here to make sure that you don’t even make it to that stage in the first place. This is what they call preventive dentistry, and we are here to make sure that any decay does not come about. Firstly, even though it may seem like I sound like your mother, brushing your teeth and carrying out all the other important oral hygiene activities is essential to getting on with healthy teeth. It may be a pain to clean your teeth at night when you are feeling drowsy, but leave it too often and you will pay the price.

Next is the case of sugar, and it is not only sweets from the corner shop that you ened to worry about. Even fruit juice which you would think is insanely healthy can have a bad effect on your teeth, as there are often large quantities of sugar in such drinks. Reading the label of such things and of course cutting back on the sweet intake can make a real different and ward off what can be an invasive treatment.
